Hi all, I took this photo yesterday of the Forth rail bridge as I was crossing the road bridge - pretty spectacular. I'll go back a day, on leaving Inverness I had another long day, 95 miles, to get to Pitlochry. There's virtually no habitation for the last 40 miles so you don't have much choice really, it's either a very long day or a very short day. Yesterday was quite a tough day early on with lots of hills, to be expected, but it was also cold with quite a strong head wind. Eventually reached John O'Groats just after 2 to no back slapping or round of applause so I had another coffee and set off for Wick. Spent the night in a nice b and b and had some haggis for breakfast. Must have worked cause did 105 miles today and reached Inverness. Beautiful warm sunny evening. Hi all, on leaving Inveraray next stop was fort William where I stayed in the youth hostel at the foot of Ben Nevis, most impressive but a few midges for company. The day after I travelled beside Loch Ness on the way to Beauly to stay with Val's cousin Ruth. Luxury and VERY WELL fed and watered. The intention was to go up the west side to Durness then on to Tongue. Unfortunately couldn't get booked anywhere so changed plan and went straight to Tongue from Beauly...

Hi, the weather is good and the wind light. I've had 2 long days since Annan. I did 85 miles yesterday and reached Maybole which is near Ayr and stayed with a cousin. Today I continued up the west coast to Gourock then took the ferry across to Dunoon. From there it was up to Inveraray, a total of 97 miles. It's really beautiful up the Argyle peninsula but the road was a bit busy today. Youth hostel has loads of guys doing lejog but they're supported - cheats!...
