Day 8 August 18- 40 miles
Woke to rain, had our coffee, food then packed wet gear. Quick ride to seaside then onto Cannon Beach and Mike's Bile Shop. He serviced my bike, needed extra tubes and bought a warmer rain jacket. Had coffee while we waited, looked around. Then rode through town and spotted "Hay Stack Rocks", wow they are amazing, hope my pictures work! George, you would love it here, miles of beach to walk! Next back on highway we come to the first of several Oregon tunnels, this was not too long but goes up hill! then two more climbs with views but also rain, fog, and cold!! Next into the pretty town of Manzanita for dinner stuff. Through town to our camp for the night, Nehalem Bay State Park, with spectacular dunes and beach that goes for miles. Just open ocean - surfer paradise! Long hot shower, quick dinner and into tent to write blog and keep warm. Early night.
