Arrivde back in Cairns yesterday morning, and wishing i was back down in melbourne! its so hot here, and i don't know anyone any more! last day in oz though, so trying to do everything australian before i leave! fly to NZ about lunch time tomorow and get there late tomorow night.

Been having a great time in cairns, its a lovely place, with every other shop a tourist one! went on a day trip out to the reef, and did an introductory scuba dive! took me a while to get down but it was amazing down there! saw lots of little nemo fish and some bright pink coral and turtles. After lunch we did some snorkelling, and even 2 hours away from the coast, we were snorkelling on coral that was only about 30cm below us in parts! the colours were much more...

We arrived a Townsville and got the ferry across to Magnetic Island. Arrived there around lunch time and got the bus to our hostel, which was right on the beach. Its made up of littel cabins and has a big swimming pool and sun beds literally on the beach, and a big bar too. The hostel is really nice, and i stayed there, lying around the pool, and kyaking in the sea. Everyone from the bus stayed there, and i met up with Sarah again on the second night, and Alf...

Got all ready and went down to the marina, to be told that there were 40 knot winds expected, and Tongarra would not be running! The Australian weather is not on my side! They said that the Atlantic Clipper was running and that there were two spots left on that one, as it was a bigger boat it was safer. I decided to go and said so before anyone else could!
