We arrived a Townsville and got the ferry across to Magnetic Island. Arrived there around lunch time and got the bus to our hostel, which was right on the beach. Its made up of littel cabins and has a big swimming pool and sun beds literally on the beach, and a big bar too. The hostel is really nice, and i stayed there, lying around the pool, and kyaking in the sea. Everyone from the bus stayed there, and i met up with Sarah again on the second night, and Alfie, who i met in Brisbane, from maidstone is in my room. It was too hot to do very much and two nights was perfect there. We left yesterday and got the bus up to Cairns. Sconzey was the driver, and he was also my first oz bus driver. We stopped off for breakfast, morning snacks, lunch and then at a crocodile farm. It was so good, i held a baby croc who had his mouth sellotaped shut, and had a boa constrictor round my neck! we went to look around and saw all the crocs being fed. One of the 5 metre long ones spunround so fast, he covered me in mud, but the keepers apologised and gave me a crocoldile tooth which is pretty cool! we fed some koalas and wallabies, and i watched a little joey climbing in and out of his mothers pouch, although he always kept one leg sticking out! saw Australias most deadly bird (all animals here seem dangerous) and some dingos. Arrived in Cairns about 5.30. My hostel is really nice and half the price of a hostel anywhere else in the country! sharing a room witjh a 60 year old woman though! had to go and buy something to wear out as my clthers were all dirty, and we met at the woolshed (everyone from the bus). Got a special deal, $6.50 (about 3 pounds) for any meal of the menu, and any free drink and a desert courtesy of ozbus, and they also had an offer 5 drinks for $10! was a great bar, with the tables becoming the dancefloor. It was goldfish racing night which was the funniest thing! they auctioned off 8 goldfish, including the american george.w.fish, the engluish fish spice and the irish fish called paddy and then raced in heats! the final was england v ireland, and paddy won! stayed there til about half 1. such a fgreat place and really cheap!
