Well i arrived in Canberra, The nations capital, as i was so often reminded (Don't think they expect people to know?) on friday night and was met by aunty Jean. I stayed with her until Tuesday night, so a very long weekend! we explored a lot of the capital, including both the old and new parliament houses, which were very interesting, more than i thought!, The war memorial and the statues representing each war that Australi had participated in on the drive up there, The national museunm of australia, the National portrait gallery, the national library and the big space centre. We also went up mount ainslee (in the car) to see the views over the whole capital. I got on well with Oscar and Kahlua and did some dog walking every night! it was lovely to see Aunty Jean again and when she was at work Stephen, her lodger, showed me around. The 'nations capital' is only a dot on the map of Australiabut i have learnt why it is the capital. It is centered round a big lake which is man made, and the majority of the inhabitants of this territory are public servants. i did get driven round to have a look at some of the government buildings which dominate the landscape.
