Well, a lot has happened since last update! My second day in Taupo i woke up aching a lot, but managed to get the enrgy to climb on board a plane, and fly 15,000 ft in the air! The plane was tiny, and every little bit of turbulation made it go wild! when we were 10,000 ft above the clouds, i had to sit with my feet hanging out the plane, and a guy named karl strapped to my back and suddenly i was flying! 60 seconds of freefall, falling 10,000 ft and then with a jolt the parachute opened and we were floating! it was absolutely amazing, and doing it over lake taupo was so beautiful! couldn't stop smiling for the rest of the day! Left Taupo the next day for wellington, the capital city which is not that big! my hostel was not very nice, so decided not to hang around! met Hanna(from oz) and mike and Ben and we went out! first night out in NZ and was so fun! Hit an 80's bar, an Irish bar then onto a club. Spent second day in wellington learning about kiwi culture at te papa, the national museum which was a lot more exciting than i thought! had a nice cheap day! Managed to pick up an eye infection somewhere so got some fun eye drops that have to be done every 2 hours! crazy! left wellington yesterday on the early o'clock ferry and arrived at picton, where we got the bus down to nelson. Hostel is really nice, very homely with free chocolate pudding and ice cream every night! had a quiet night hanging around the living room, and then up at 6.30 this morning! Got a coach to kaiterteri in the Abel Tasman national park, and then a ferry round to the start point, where i departed on a long/24km/15mile walk! the walk was coastal and through forest, and there were some beautiful views! my feet gave up 4km before the rest of me, and i have some fantastic popped blisters to show for the walk! Got back to the hostel just in time for free chocolate pudding, then put my feet up in the lving room. nice early start AGAIN tomorrow, you won't recognise me by the time i get home!
