We left hotel at 8:30am for a walking tour of York and saw key points of historical interest:- remnants of the town wall- the old Guild Hall (circa 1400)- the Barley Hall (circa 1400)- the Shambles (a medieval term for butcher shop)- models of Cats on windows, walls & roofs - a local superstition- Guy Fawkes' house (with fire insurance medallion)- sweets stores galore- York Minster (circa 1080AD)
