After our first night stay in Dora, (the truck), we made ready for our longest drive yet, at near on 6 hours, to make headway towards Chicago. Marie was getting ready at the camp site and met Denise and was talking for what seemed like ages, I even knocked on the female changing room door in the end. We packed the car again and set off, stopping at McDonalds for breakfast/lunch. I had a McGriddle, which was the single biggest mistake of my life, horrendous, maple syrup pancakes surrounding sausage, egg and cheese shouldn't happen. I wish I'd known that's what it was when I ordered it. We also went driving on some rather more interesting roads than we were used to, which made for far more exciting driving. Some of the towns we passed through looked like they had been stuck in time, I'm pretty sure we went through Radiator Springs as well!! Arriving at Lena KOA we were chuffed, our next door neighbours were teachers and were almost as kind as the owner, we were slowly finding out that all the Americans we had met were really nice people. We set the tent up and cooked some beans on toast for dinner, before getting ready to sleep, for what was to be a very cold night.
