After the boat we checked into the hostel, locked our bags away and went to the roof to meet David, we wanted to get up there a bit earlier than the other night as we didn't want to be playing catch up again. Turns out we wasn't early enough, everyone was once again smashed, and for some reason a lot of the blokes were wearing dresses! Not sure whos idea that was. Anyway we were hungry and they do a BBQ on the roof so we brought a burger, but if you buy a burger you have to spin a wheel of fortune, or misfortune, you could win a beer, you could have to down your drink you could have to kiss someone, tim and ben had to down their beers but Lloyd got a thing called a 'sex change'. Considering I had only had one beer I was like oh god what have I got to do and I'm stone cold sober. Turns out I had to swap clothes with one of the girls until we left for the bar crawl, luckily the girl who was chosen, was wearing leggings and a hoodie so didn't look like too much of an idiot and I was warm! We played a few games of beer pong, beating the yanks at their own game! Sorry about that! The drinks were flowing and the off we went on the bar crawl.
We got up at about 1011 the next day, a lot better than 7! We were all hanging big time, none of us were up for anything really, we went down for breakfast, chilled put for a bit chatted about the last night with a few others. We then went back to the room for a bit of a nap, but a nap turned into a few hours kip. When we woke up we all went out for dinner, us three and David. Then went to the roof, had a few beers played some beer pong but none of us were really feeling it so went for a walk before the bar crawl left. David went out for a bit but was back by like half 11. Going for a walk sounds boring but there is so much stuff going on on the streets it isn't. We came across a street food area and they were cooking some sort of bird, we think it was pigeon, but they cook them whole, heads on wings on and everything. We brought one for 30000 Dong and sat on the little stools they have on the street with all the locals and tucked in. We were a bit apprehensive but it was actually really nice, if we knew what bird it was I would request it again!
The next morning we woke up at 9 to get our free breakfast, as we wanted to go on the walking tour of Hanoi that the hostel does for free, you get to see the lakes, a small temple and shrine and finishes off in a covered market, we put our haggling skills to the test here as we needed to buy some headphones each! When we were done in there we carried on exploring around the city until we were completely lost! Somehow David's Google maps was working so we found our way back in the end, stopped for some late lunch on the way!
We got back to the hostel with a couple of hours to spare before our 14 hour night bus journey to Hue, so we skyped a few friends and that. Then on the bus we got, we were kind of excited when we were getting on as we had never seen a sleeper bus before, but kind of dreading it as well.
