Today we woke up early and got a ferry over to Macau, which took an hour and is an island near mainland China! Today was Tims turn to feel rough after a few too many the night before!
As soon as we got to Macau we got a taxi to Macau Tower, as we were in a rush for what we had booked for 11am!
On the way to the tower we went passed all the casinos we had planned to visit later.... and the size of them is unexplainable!
Anyway.... as we got closer and closer to the tower, we realised just how tall it is and the nerves started to kick in!! We jumped in the lift and went to floor 61! When we got there... the views were amazing, but our legs started to tremble even looking out the glass floor and window!.... but there was no way we were not going to jump!
We got all harnessed up but refused to wear the t-shirts they gave us as we wanted to wear the ones slug got us, which they were fine with. As we were waiting we met the guy who set up the bungee jump in the Macau Tower, and holds the world records for highest bungee and highest bungee with a partner, he seemed a lot more trustworthy than most of the Chinese people we have met so felt a bit safer knowing he was in charge! Next thing we knew we were standing on the edge of the 'plank' as they called it... legs shaking with fear and adrenalin! Then 5, 4, 3, 2, 1..... that was it the fall begins....
As soon as your feet leave the platform the feeling is unreal....soooooooooooo beaut!!!!! After we stopped bouncing we just took the views in which again made the whole experience so much better! For an hour afterwards you couldn't wipe the smiles of our faces! Out Of this world! 233 metres, 764 feet.... BIGGEST IN THE WORLD!
Next we went and explored the main casinos, they are the same as in Vegas.... The Venetian, Sands, MGM etc. They take more money than Vegas which is understandable as they are huge! We heard about an indoor gondola river in the venetian so made that our priority.... pictures do not do it justice, it is massive!
We explored a few other casinos, none of us being gamblers we didn't really know what we were doing but we put $150(£11.77)into roulette, done alright and ended up with $800(£62.79) then lost it all, was fun while it lasted though! Remember we are on a budget haha!
We were knackered once again, got the ferry home after another massive queue, Hong Kong has so many queues you don't understand. We have put this down to Chinese New Year though! Ferry home, earlyish night, ready for the next day.....
