When we woke the next morning we jumped on the peds and got breakfast. We didn't really fancy a 3 hour hike to a dried up waterfall when we had seen an amazing one about a week before so we decided to go and see the canyon, then come back and chill at the big pool. It took about 20 minutes to ride to the canyon. When you get there you walk up a big hill and steps and at the top there are viewing platforms to take photos and a small track you can walk around the canyon. Basically it is just a massive hole in the ground that is full of trees. It took about 45 minutes to walk around the whole thing and we got a few pics where we thought it looked quite cool. Like usual it was roasting hot and all we could think about was getting in the pool, so we trekked back down the hill. The pool wasn't far from our hostel at all so it was pretty easy to find.
The pool is called 'Fluid', we had to pay 60Baht to get in which includes a sunbathing matt, use of the pool and use of the gym, that is just over a quid. We laid all of our stuff down and jumped straight in the pool to cool down. There were a couple of balls in the pool so we snapped up the chance of grabbing one and started playing volleyball, naturally a few other people come over and joined in so we had quite a big game going in the end. The sun was belting down and we felt we had lost our tans a bit lately as we hadn't been to any coastal towns or anything so we took the opportunity to have a bit of a sunbathe. This is where we met a group of Irish girls that were going to the countries we had already been so we gave them a bit of advice on where to stay and what to do etc. They are also going to the same Full-Moon party as us ( like a lot of people we met are ) so will meet up with them again. We played a few games of table tennis that was there as well.
When it got to around five we left the pool to get some dinner and go back to the hostel to get ready to go out. We brought a few beers from the shop to drink at the hostel as it was a lot cheaper that than to buy them there. We were drinking with a group of Canadians, and they taught us a new drinking game which we will definitely be using in the future! We ended up staying at the hostel later than we thought and we knew we had to ride the bikes to Chiang Mai the next day so we decided not to go out and get an early night.
