We woke up feeling a bit tiered but had to get up, find some where to get money and find a new place to stay. Whilst walking around we found a place to stay closer to the main beach, which is perfect as this is where we get the boat from! We found somewhere to get cash (I have really taken cash machines for granted!). We rented some bikes to go and get out stuff from
Our old room and the spent the morning sorting our bags out as everything was everywhere after the last few days of moving. In the afternoon we grabbed our bikes and headed to Don Kong and to the waterfalls. The ride down the sunrise side of Don Det was really pretty and took us directly to the bridge to the other island. From there it was a ride through the countryside, past lots of buffaloes and rice paddies until we reached the waterfall. I imagined them as small falls with a couple of places to swim - I was wrong. They were a series of about 15 waterfalls next to each other that stretched down the river. Hot, due to once again going out at midday, we really wanted a swim - we were told there was a beach as followed the signs down stream. Once there we reached a nice bar and found the sand, however the river had too strong a current to even think about swimming in! Slightly annoyed and hot we graded a fruit shake (the thing I will miss most when home) and then made our way back to the guesthouse! A long cold shower and we were happy again, now hungry we went looking to exchange our money and get some food - we ended up back in the bar we were at last night. This place was awsome as they only served set things - last night BBQ, tonight pizza, we choose a Hawaiian and a BBQ chicken and sat with a nice homemade lemonade and a beer! The power on the island went a bit funny leaving us eating in near darkness, but this just shows the attitude of the island as everyone carried in without even blinking an eye. We were bought a candle and we finished eating by caddie light looking over the islands and the Mekong! It was now time for bed and prepare ourselves for another long bus and boarder crossing! Cambodia here we come!
