Left today bound for Dubai then Paris. Stopped for a refuelling at Singapore airport but all of the shops were shut. Landed at Dubai airport at around 5am and the temperature was already 34. The plane lands out in the middle of nowhere and we had to catch a bus to the terminal which took about 15min. lots of shops at Dubai airport. Matt bought chewing gum and eau de cologne. Everything was very cheap.I will buy on the way back. Looking out over Dubai it was very very smoggy.
It was a very long flight, my bum was very uncomfortable and my legs hurt, hard to get comfy. We asked for a window seat for the Dubai Paris leg and ended up right over the wing and couldn't see a thing, luckily on the T.V screen they have a camera under the nose of the plane so we was what the pilots saw. Once again had to catch a bus from the plane to the terminal.

Here we are in Paris. Klaus met us at the airport our plane was 40min late as we had to wait for luggage at Dubai. Drove around the outskirts of Paris to find our accommodation. Got our first taste of just how crazy these Parisian drivers really are.
Found our accom no problems, thanks to GPS. But couldn't get hold of the man with the key to let us in. Klaus knocked on the door of one of the other tenants who let us use his computer and phone. Finally got through to this man and after Klaus had a screaming fight with him someone finally arrived to let us in.
Our little place is very cute, quite old but in a really good location. Train stop just opposite and shops close by. There are some hobo living in tents under the train tracks opposite but they seem fairly inoffensive. Also opposite us you can hire bikes that you ride around and can leave at locations all over town.
Went out for tea to a beautiful restaurant for tea called Juliensin Saint Denis. It has been there since 1902 and is decorated in Art Nouveau style, very lush.
Caught a cab home , very tired, slept well.

Had a bit of sleep in and got up at 8.30. Matt went off and bought us croissants for breakfast, oh so very Parisian. Headed of at around 10am for a look around Paris. Covered a lot of ground today. We went to the Latin Quarter, to a lovely old street market with lots of stall full of fresh produce, not a lot of tourists go there so it was a real look into the Paris the locals know. We went to the Ile De Cite and saw Notre Dame, The Concergeire, The Bastile and and lots of churches.
The apartments are just gorgeous complete with window boxes full of geraniums. The prices not so cute, 450,000 euros upwards. Stopped for lots of coffees, had a baggette for lunch and watched street musicians play.
Walked for miles, very leg sore and now its time to sort out dinner. Until tomorrow?
