14.09.07. Woke up to rain today. This morning we drove back to have a look around Carcassone. This place is amazingly huge. It once supported 2000 people but now has only 150 residents. It was partly constructed by the Romans, but most of that part has been destroyed. It was finished in the 13th Century but restored in the 19th by the same man who restored the Louvre in Paris. 13.09.07. Today we left Clermont Ferrand bound for Carcassone. Had an interesting meal last night, served by a very smelly waiter. It was very rude but we couldn't stop laughing. At least he spoke English. Back to our drive.
