After probably the best nights sleep I have had in a while we had a lovely breakfast ofcroissants in the quaint kitchen of the B&B we staying in. The lady is very friendly. The house was built in 1750 and we are staying in the restored barn. Very cosy for a barn.Michelle drove this morning and Matt decided to be sick. Quick pull over on the side of the road, felt much better after that. Chateau hunting today. First was Chateau de Chambord, this place was huge. There were 440 rooms and the fence around the estate is 32km long.Very grand rooms but not much furniture, as most of it was stripped during the revolution. Da Vinci designed the spiral staircase which was amazing. The turrets on the top form what looks like a forrest. Next was Chateau de Cheverny. This chateau is still privately owned and very much smaller. Still very grand inside with richly decorated ceilings and tapestried walls , you could imagine living in it. Lovely gardens and a little orangerie out the back. Matt thought of many sports he could play on the immaculately manicured lawns. Last one we visited today was the Chateau Royal De Blois, not sure how the pronounce that. This chateau was built in three distinctive architectural styles. Drove home via Tours and stopped for dinner.
