After a wonderful nights sleep and another lovely breakfast served in a French country kitchen it was offto visit some more French chateaux. I drove this morning and only ended up on the wrong side of the road, doing a u turn onto the other wrong side of the road once. Then there was the driving on the footpath thing, but that another story. Still getting my head around the whole drive on the right thing. You cant change gears with the window winder it would seem. Go figure. We went to Chenonceau Chateau firstly. This chateau is built over the river Cher and is more tastefully decorated than the ones we saw yesterday. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The ceilings in this chateau were all beautifully decorated. During WW1 it was used as a hospital so has some quite modern, in France, furnishings. Next chateau was at Amboise. This chateau has a rather gruesome past, some 1300 protestants were executed there. It is perched on a hill overlooking the very pretty little village below and from the terraces you have a lovely view over the Loire Valley.Back to Tours to do some laundry. Boring.
