Picton is the point of departure to get to the north island and this time I decided to travel in style and get the scenic flight across rather than the ferry. It wasn't much more - less than 10 quid extra. So with that booked I had some more time to spend in Picton. I found a rather nice bakery and then sat in the sunny park by the harbour eating my picnic and studying the old lonely planet. As it turns out the flight was a bit more than I was thinking as they bloody charged me for being over weight (stupid bloody wine!!) my main pack was fine but they also weighed your hand luggage and everything else too - gits I wasn't expecting that! It also pissed me off as there wasa bloke there that must have weighed twice my weight and he didn't get bloody extra charges did he!!!!!!
Anyways the flight was really good, the views were tip top and I got to Wellington much quicker than those on the ferrry. Another hidden cost was the transfer from airport to town but I had to swallow that. I rushed in to town so I could go back round the free museum they have that is excellent.
Beck was meant to be doing me tea but then at the last minute had to cancel so it was dinner for one again!! Didn't I give her some grief!
