All by myself I caught the bus to Kaikoura, we stopped on route to look at the seal colony where I got a few snaps and got to our destination by 12pm in time to do some of the many activities on offer in this wildlife mecca. Sadly all activities were cancelled due to a massive storm (I was down for the whale watching). It really pissed it down with gale force winds all day, great! I had a walk down by the sea in my waterproof coat and trousers but the other backpackers are not as kitted up as me so got wet when venturing out! I stopped for fish and chips as it is meant to be one of the best places in NZ to have it but to be honest it was pretty ropey (I had the grouper). The wine at the local bar did fair a little better though! I headed back early evening for some more biscuits and cheese and finished off the left over wine from the night before (thank you Charlie).

Due to the schedule I couldn't hang around for the weather to improve which was a shame as this place has the most awesome sealife in the world but there we go you win some you loose some and I had a wine tour to get too!
