Well I headed to Dunedin on my Catlins Coaster which turned out to be one very long journey along the southern cost of New Zealand. It commenced at Invercargill and continued along stopping at little bays to view yellow ringed penguins (they are pretty rare) and also we got to see the rarest and smallest Dolphins in the world the hector dolphins. At one beach we stopped out there was a petrified forest - forest that had turned to stone! We also viewed some pretty awesome waterfalls that had been dyed brown by tannin in the ground - due to the huge amount of rain and terrible weather the water was very high and spectacular. However the rain and wind made the day pretty chilly!
Eventually I got to Dunedin and Hogwartz (the hostel was my choice due to name), Charlie was there ready and waiting with dinner all prepared - ace! The hostel was great; we had a twin room to ourselves and it was really friendly and warm. We did have to go out that evening as we had promised some friends off the bus we would and I must admit the night life waas pretty poor after the Quuenstown experience! We headed back not drunk but it was still a bit late for my liking. We spent the next day in Dunedin exploring, there wasn't too much to seee apart from some lovely architechture - an amazing train station (which I went to take a photo of to find I had left my camera battery back at the hostel, d'oh! - see pic above though). We also went round the museum and caught up on some emails. It was very early to bed I think we were both asleep by 9.20pm! The next morning we headed to Lake Tekapo.
