As we only spent a day here this will be a short one but it was brilliant!

Like i say we got the train from Ayutthaya to Phitsanulok and stopped off here on the way just to have a look around. We got to Ayutthaya station in time to take the early train but when we found out the price difference, we caught the later train, so we sat around for 2 hours then it was late so we sat around some more. before we finally got under way. However the train took longer than we anticipated so by the time we got to Lopuri it was early afternoon.

This place has some lovely ruins in the middle of a nondescript town that nobody would go out of their way to see if it wasn't for one thing...the monkeys! They were brilliant, you go into a temple thing that has bars all around the windows and entrances and the monkeys sit outside the bars. So it's like role reversals we're in the cage and the monkeys are outside! You buy food and you can feed them!!!! the like nuts and fruits and they take it from your hands. Some of them were babies and were tiny and some of them were huge with hands that were so human like it was weird. There was even one sat on a moped with one eye, all the men around him were fussing after him. They brought him a Yakult and did his hair for him whilst he squinted at us with his one eye!

At one point we got caught in the rain, and when we say rain it pelted it down, luckily we were inside a shop and they offered us a seat to keep dry then it got worse and they had to close the shop front as the water was blowing in. We were lucky poor old Tash was at the zoo and she got soaked whilst her poor tuk tuk driver sat outside and waited for her.

After another long wait for our train the supposedly 5 hour journey to Phitsanulok began
