When we finally checked into our hotel in Singapore and we slept! The weather for our 3 days here were awful it rained a lot excpet the day we went to the zoo. We found a local food court and tucked in, as it was the only cheap place we could find, its not a cheao place to be on a tight budget! we had our 3 days all planned out, cultural walk, botanical gradens, zoo, night safari, but due to poor weather we just chilled out and didnt do a fat lot, but the little we did do was brilliant.
The zoo was FANASTIC the zoo was amazing. We have avoided zoo's most of the way around asia due to all the horro stories of mistreatment but we had been told so many brilliant things about this one we couldn't miss out. We had a long day planned to see the zoo and the night safari and it was worth the expense. The animals we brillaint, we saw the white tigers feeding,...not to mention our first kangaroo (ironic considering we were heading to Australia the next day!)
We also headed down to the Asian civilisations museum and took a journey with Buddha through time, learnign about his history and all the different cultures that exist in Singapore.
On our final day before we flew out to Australia and back to western civilisation we headed down to Raffles...had to be done (on my nan's insistance!) We had a Singapore sling which was very nice but almost broke the bank at s$22! We took loads of photos and got soked walking there in the rain, theres a huge shopping complex on site and a museum so we ha d a bit of a mooch about, and then headed off for some lunch. We had been recomended a place as food heaven, and it was. Everything that you could possibly desire to eat under one roof...there was sushi, taiwanese, japanese, chinese, thai, vietnamese and even egg bacon and chips if you fancied it! So for my last asia meal i tucked into a bowl of noodle soup..what else? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Now it was time to say bye to singapore and G'day to the land of kangaroos!
