Chiang rai Our arrival finally at Chiang Rai after the ordeal of the last few weeks and its our final stop in Tahiland before we head on over to neighbouring Laos. The road to Pai (ponounced Bye) is route 1095 (or so Si's t-shirt tells us) and is quite famous up here. The road runs from Chiang Mai to Pai through the mountains, in itself it's quite a feat as it winds round and up and down for about 2 hours and its a sheer drop down at most points! So after we said goodbye to Sukhotai we got on the bus for the five hour journey to Chiang mai. Which as usual was uneventful just very very long, although on the way we did make friend with a Brasilian couple and ended up going to the same hostel as them.
