I ventured into the Blue Mountains on a guided coach tour yesterday. We first stopped at a wildlife park where I got to touch a koala and hand feed a kangaroo! It was amazing! The roos were hopping around the park with no restrictions between us and them. There was also a fifteen foot crocodile who had not been fed since March just chillin' by his pond. Scary! We then went to see the Grand Canyon of Australia. It was freezing but so pretty. The blue haze comes from the eucalyptus trees. I actually rode on 2 cablecars without too many panic attacks, but it was the main way out the canyons so I did not have too much of a choice. We did ride the world's steepest incline railway which was really fun. The small town of Leura was next on the agenda. It was a cute quaint town with cherry blossoms and antique stores everywhere. I know my mom would have simply loved it! After all this action, we got to go see Olympic Park and then take a harbor cruise back to Circular Quay.
I leave for Melbourne tomorrow night by a 12 hour overnight bus ride. I can barely contain my excitement for that! I am excited to move onto my new surroundings and see familiar faces again!
