Phuket we where a bit sad and a bit happy heading to Phuket, sad that it was our last stop in Thailand, and happ (well I was anyway) that i got to see Spurs in their first cup Final since their last one (it was so long ago i cant remember when it was). Anyway we got to Phuket town, we spent approx 10 minutes there and got a taxi to Hat Karon on the other island of the island.

Maybe by the amount I write about Phuket you will be able to tell how much I liked and enjoyed Phuket, it rained everyday we where there, and I got to watch Spurs beat Chelsea in an excellent cup final 2-1 with J Woodagte scoring and unbelievable header past P Cech in extra time to claim Spurs first peice of silverware since 1998. I also bought souvenirs, in the rain.

We flew out of Thailand with Air Aisa, and we were flying to Kuala Lumper. I was pleased with Air Asia because it was costing us no more than 40 pounds for both of us, unfortunately this is where the pleasantness ended. Apparently your checked baggage can only weigh 15kgs, together our bags came to 38.8kgs, so I expected to pay the difference. Apparently with Air Asia in Thailand this isnt the case, so with blank expressions from the 2 of us, the kind check in lady informed us we could take luggage out of our bag over there! Well this was going to be interesting, outside it was around 35 degrees and of course i was dressed appropriatly; shorts, vest and a pair of flip flops, to gain entry onto the plane i had to change outfit, which resulted me putting on a t-shirt and my rugby top (not thin) over my vest, changing on shorts and putting on my jeans, (again not thin) and then to finish it off put on my hiking socks and hiking shoes. Before I even took a step in knoew this wasnt going to be a pleasant flight or trip into KL!

With being in Thailand for a month i started to get used to a few things that werent a main custom of life in the uk, of course there were a few things that i didnt get used to.

I got used to taking my shoes off before entering a shop or restaurant and walking about bare feet, i got used to eat while sitting on the floor, it didnt happen all the time but frequent enough. I even got used to the guys trying to sell me a suit as i walked down the street at mid day with my rucksack on and pretanding to be australian to get away.

The main thing i didnt get used to while away in Thailand was the fact door frames were a couple of inches shorter than door frames in the uk. THe number of times i cursed the Thais for being short after i smashed my head againsty the door frame was unbelievable and I am sure after the swelling goes down i will be half an inch shorter than when i arrived!
