So I get poured off the plane into Malayasia, its a stamp on the passport, but its a cheat we are only here for 1 day and we are only really here to see 1 thing, well 2. So we find the cheapest into the city that we drop us off at the hotel, yip we are treating ourselves tonight we are in a Hotel no more than 3 minutes walk from those 2 big towers. So we get on the bus that somehow bounces down the perfectly smooth road for over a hour into the city, but at least i get to see the sign for the entrance to the track that holds the F1 in Malayasia.
Anyway KL must be built on a one way system, beause after we get into the city and drive past the same set of restaurants and bars for an other 35 minutes, and i swear we drove past our hotel (on the right side of the street) the driver finally informs us we are here. Corus Hotel, in Downtown KL, finally i made the right decision, I hope. Anyway we walk in with our backpacks, standing out like sore thumbs, more than I realised, we checked in. I was tried, not interested in what the little lady in front of me was saying, mainly because i couldnt understand a word she was saying (now i know how everyone i have spoke to for the last 5 years feels like), but i said thankyou lifted the card and walked off towards the lifts. As we approached the room, I had no idea why charlotte had a stupid smile on her face, i had no i dea why she would even have a normal smile on her face! We got to our 'room' and charlotte grabed the key and opened the door like a kid on Christmas morning going to check out what santa had left, I was not in the mood for this, especially when she squealed I cant see a bed, my first reaction was i dont care i'll sleep on the floor. What Charlotte had heard and what I was oblivous to was that apparently they had upgraded us to a suite. This meant for 30 quid between us, we had a hotel suite which was the size of the downstairs of my house. We had a massive bathroom, as living area, 3 piece suite coffee table and tv, a desk and a dinning area with bar facilites and of course a bedroom with a king size bed, a bed which for the first time since i was 14 that my feet didnt hang over the edge! This was special! Although i think the whole thing was abit much for Charlotte as she went a bit crazy and insisted that we ordered room service for dinner and breakfast, of course i wasnt going to say no. When in Rome and all!
After we had room service, we went to see what all the fuss was about! Well, those things definetly deserved a lot of fuss. I normally go with a building is a building, but these 2 things were something else, I never got to see the twin towers in NY which i know where bigger but i think these 2 definelty looked alot better, obviously they stood out, but they did more than that they glowed in the night, blanked out every other building in the city which would have been a marvel if these 2 werent there! After the compusory photos we went for a dander around the city to see what we could see, we noticed a needle type building so we decided to see if we could head up that to get a night time view, obviously the time we got there it was shut and there was nothing else around but it was something else to look at and it gave us a plan for tomrrow.
The next day, since we had to check out at 12, consisted of getting tickets to go up to the veiwing deck of the twin towers, and then heading over the needle and heading up there to see what we could see. Although we had to pay to get to the viewing section of the needle which was the 4th tallest telecommunation tower in the world, it was definelty a good view, from the there we could see over everything (apart from the towers of course) the strangest thing we did see was 2 guys in one of those lifts out cleaning the windows at the top of the twin towers, they better have been well paid, or my response would have been, if you want to work that high up and and dont want dirty windows clean them yourself!
After that viewing experience we headed back to the twin towers for an other viewing extravaganza. To the top of the Twin Towers, well no not really, to that bit a third of the way up that Sean Connery and Katherine Zeta Jones swung about on for 30 minutes in Entrapment. Although it was cool to be up there and have a wee talk on what about the towers were about, I would have preferred to get to the top and maybe try and drop something on someone or something. Anyway that was the guts of our whistlestop tour of KL>
