So first stop in Vietnam being Ho Chi Minh city and it's probably the craziest city I have ever been to. Rumoured to have 8 million mopeds for 10 million people, navigating the roads and pavements is a skill in itself!!
A few more culture boxes ticked, the Vietnam National war museum visited, very stark images of the war but an interesting place to see. A visit to the Cu Chi tunnels was an experience. A small part of the 250km underground tunnels used by the Vietcong during the Vietnam war have been opened to the public; to say they are claustrophobic is an understatement and they have been widened for western tourists! How the Vietnamese fought from the tunnels for the duration of the war is crazy.
Saw much of the inside of the city, markets, street stalls and general touring around town. 2 of the guys from Laos are still travelling with us, one of which is fluent in Vietnamese which was a massive help! It also gave us the opportunity to try much more of the local food and experience local life!
On the first night we went up to the bar at the top of Saigon Tower. Very similar to the London Shard, with a helipad connected to the bar, not sure how we were allowed entrance for a drink wearing flip flops, old shorts and a 3 day old best but were great views so well worth trying!
Onto Mui Ne next, famous for dune surfing and one of the best beaches in Vietnam!
