Today marked the final leg of our Gibb river road adventure. We packed up early once again, it was impossible to sleep in anyway with tons of horrible noisy crows hanging around. We stopped at Mt Barnett store to grab some power steering fluid as we noticed we were leaking fluid then headed onto Silent Grove and Bell Gorge. Yet another stunning gorge, a fair hike on rocky terrain took us to a river crossing at the top of the falls. We then hiked up over the rock wall and down to the pool below the waterfall where we jumped in for a cool down and explore. We saw tons of tiny frogs and a water monitor and lots of stinky bat poo. We trekked back to the car where Jamie got his tools and and managed to fix the power steering leak so we had to drive back down the road to the shop to grab some more fluid. We met the others at the car park for Lenard Gorge where we grabbed a quick bite of lunch and started the hot walk to the gorge. About 3/4 of the way we passed some people who told us we couldn't swim at the gorge due to lack of access and we were so hot and tired we decided to turn back, stopping for a quick dip in the river on the way back. We found some leeches in the river which promptly got us out of the water and back on the road, no bleeding casualties although I managed to stub my toe pretty darn good, not the best idea hiking on rocks in old thongs! Once back on the road we headed to Derby, having to stop once when the hire car got another flat tyre. We made it to Derby just before sunset and set up in the caravan park. After some much needed showers we went to the local pub where we all ordered the seafood platter to share which was yummo. We played a bit of pool and hung out for a while, then us girls called it a night and left the boys to their pool and drinking.
