Decided we needed a slower pace today so enjoyed getting up late. We discovered our neighbours who arrived while we were out yesterday were the same couple who were at our last campsite, so chatted to them. We had a big load of washing to do and we hung it to dry under our awning before heading off mid morning to see some of the beaches near Dunsborough that we didn't have time to see yesterday.
First stop was Swings and Roundabouts winery near Yallingup, which I had visited some years ago with my mother. The place was renovated and bigger than I remembered - progress I guess, since there are many wineries in this region all competing against each other.
We tasted some interesting wines and then headed off to the coast.
We drove to Canal Rocks, where you can walk out on a narrow board walk over the rocks to watch the water rush through a kind of canal entrance.
Next we headed into Dunsborough for lunch before heading out to see the lovely peaceful Meelup beach and the exclusive Eagle Bay and Bunker Bay.
Headed back to our campsite on the farm near Margaret River, where Gadi chatted to the owner about our tow hitch and leveling our car and caravan. He suggested we head into town tomorrow and see an engineer about shortening the length of our tow hitch as it is very long, adding to the weight on the back end of the car.
Time to head inside to cook dinner and relax for the evening, as always. Can't believe we have been on the road over 10 weeks now. Time has gone so fast for us. I guess we get to see new scenery and places each day, which keeps us busy. It's so important when you do so much during the day that you get the chance to chill in the evenings. And I have been known on the odd occasion to nod off during a movie (or anything that's on TV really...)
So good night from me. Let's see how long I manage to stay awake for!
