We got up early (for us) and were going to leave early and have breakfast along the way but decided last minute after we had packed up, to make eggs in the camp kitchen before we left. We said our goodbyes to our fellow travellers and Sid, the campground owner, before finally leaving mid morning.
We planned to stay at a camp ground half way between Augusta and Margaret River called Alexandra's Bridge. We drove in and as you could camp anywhere, we tried to squish into a tight riverside spot between a large fifth wheeler who arrived moments before us, and a large group of tent campers. Turned out that everyone had generators and one of the tent campers actually told us she intended using hers for the rest of the day until 10pm. Not only that her generator was away from her campsite but right next to us. We decided to move on some place else as there's nothing that annoys us more than the sound of noisy generators.
We checked out another nearby campsite, at Chapmans Pools but decided that although dogs are permitted and required to be on a lead due to 1080 poison laid, it was too much of a risk with Cadbury so we decided to try a working farm camp ground just out of Margaret River that we had heard was lovely.
Great decision, as this place is lovely and although quite expensive for non powered sites at $26, is a much better option for us than the other two campsites we looked at today.
Late afternoon we headed off into town to get some information and maps and check out the town. On the way back to the camp ground we stopped at a chocolate place, where we indulged in tasting chocolates from several countries. Yum!
Back to our campsite as the last rays of afternoon sun set over the surrounding farmland. Cooked dinner in the weber, which we haven't used for a while. Time to head inside and relax with some ABC TV - the first time we've had TV reception since we left Perth.
Time to relax and chill for the evening.
Good night xx
