Rest day.
After doing grocery shopping for lunch, Dee and I visited Les and Iris. This is a normal routine for Dee but with John and me here she has been unable to do it as often.
Les lives alone and has a very nice home and a beautiful garden. He enjoys gardening and is very independent. He has a little dog called Mulder. Whenever Les' attention was on Dee and me Mulder would sit on his haunches and want attention. They really have a close bond.
He has many photos of his wife and family on the walls. I had an opportunity look at a commemorative book on his visit to Ypres, Belgium on 11.11.2011. Les was the first civilian person to lay the wreath that day. This is where his maternal grandfather, who was one of the 'Old Contemptibles', died in WWI (1914). He will be going again this year for the centenary.
From there we went to see Iris. She was very excited to see Dee and me. She enjoys the visits as Sunday is the loneliest day of the week. During the week Pat visits frequently to clean and do shopping. Iris is also very independent and has a little garden.
Dee cooked us a roast pork lunch today with apple pie and custard for dessert. I know I have said this a few times but she is a really good cook. Everyone was definitely full after lunch.
We just relaxed for the rest of the afternoon and evening and watched the World Cup.
