So after a very, very long bus ride from Cusco to Puno, we have now moved from Puno in Peru to a catamaran on Lake Titikaka on the Bolivian side. The Inca heritage is strong here. They are less Catholic than other South American countries but still take massive parts of Catholicism and blend it in with other bits and bobs. Like when you buy a car, new or second hand, you must dress it up with flowers and decorations and get it blessed but a catholic priest outside the church of our lady of Copacabana here in Bolivia. They go to a lot of effort and they queue was long! So today we sailed from Copacabana to Sun Island which is the largest island on the lake. A site of many Incan rituals hundreds of years ago and largely destroyed when the Spaniards arrived in the 15th century. We did a lot of walking today but it wasn't too hard. We are staying the night on the catamaran but now we are the only ones... The only guests on the whole boat. The morning passengers were only doing a day trip so every meal has a buffet for the two of us and tonight we had a candle lite dinner just for us... Plus a floor show of local music and dancing... The sound of two people clapping sounds very lame. It also meant that we were the only volunteers to join in the floorshow. Another day of walking tomorrow before staying back in La Paz.
