Spent a lovely afternoon with katie and Sam at a rather drizzly Gun Wharf. Watched Toy Story 3 which managed to get the emotions going. Really needed to bite my lip to keep it together. Three more sleeps was perhaps a bit optomistic as I don't think I will be getting much sleep tonight. I am very excited and still trying to get the backpack sorted. Still heavier then I would like so going to give it another go. My next entry will hopefully be from Kenya...

Three more sleeps before the off! Had a go at packing today and didn't quite manage to fit everything in but was pleased with the first attempt. Can't lift rucksack on my own but once on my back it is ok. My brother who was going to take me to the airport has been delayed in America so last minute change of plans gives me an extra day at home with the Katie and Sam. Really getting very excited now.

It's a week before the start of my big adventure. This time next week I will hopefully be touching down in Nairobi to start a 6 week overlander trek from Kenya to Cape Town. After that, I will go on to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and America. 8 months exploring a good section of the world. I feel excited, nervous and very disorganised. I think this is the hardest part.
