This morning we had to be up at 5.45 to catch a 6am breakfast because we left at 6.50am for our Float Trip down the Colorado River. This is a smooth water float trip on a 20 seater inflatable boat powered by a 135 hp Honda outboard motor. An early start was required so we were first on the water and had the river to ourselves. That is not counting the trout fishers. We took the slow trip and it was a magic ride down 7 miles of the river. Along the way we saw osprey, bald eagle, an albino squirrel, which the guide had never seen before, and red tailed kite. The view of the Glen Canyon was spectacular. We also viewed the ancient petroglyphs about 11000 years old left by the Ancient Pueblan people.
In the after noon we boarded a large boat with about 150 others for an afternoon cruise on Lake Powell to view the Antelope Canyon. However this cruise paled compared with the morning raft trip
