After a morning tour of Yellowstone we set out for Cody, travelling through the Shoshone Canyon and the Absoroka Rocky Mountains still in the high country. Yelowstone National Park is between 2000 and 2500 metres above sea level, and so our exertion problems continue. The day began with a "stroll" through the upper geyser basin and it was hard work. Once again the morning was cold one degree on the water and a slight breeze. However we were told that the air over the water is always 5 degrees colder that the land temperature so it really was minus 4. So we dressed accordingly.undershirt, shirt, fleece, and wind jacket.
