We woke up and thought we were transported back to England for a second, it were quite rainy outside so we slacked around along with some other travellers before deciding to go to discounted retail warehouse, the walk took us good 20 minutes.
We had a quick lunch when we arrived there before starting our browsing-soon enough I started to play on my Angry Birds game on my mobile which is a godsend sometimes on this trip. There were many stores with discounted prices and it were interesting to see Australian clothes and I realised there is less competition for the market in Australia because Australia have only two or three mobile network operators, five fashionable clothing labels- You get the picture though this does not mean everyone in Australia wear same clothes!
I bought a nice Ralph Lauren polo t-shirt which is worth only twenty pounds in England, we also made an emergency trip to inappropriately named d*** Smith which is a technology store because Ashley's camera lens broke but luckily enough the lens randomly decided to start working so we got a bus to town.
We had a scout in yet few more shops and went to Information Centre to consult an agent on trips for tomorrow because tomorrow look set to be another rather miserable day. We randomly decided to hire a car because we enjoyed having a car and the freedom associated with the car so much and to go on a random road trip to various small landmarks dotted around Cairns. Ashley and Charlene faced a race against the clock as they dashed off to hire a car with five minutes from the closing time. You all have to wait until tomorrow to see if they were successful....
We decided to have a meal at Hog's Breath where Kirsty Day from Brisbane worked at. I chose steak as recommended by Kirsty and her recommendation paid off as the steak were mouth-watering!
Sorry readers, I confess today were rather a boring entry but tomorrow look set to be more interesting!

Rachael True observations about the shopping. Yes a lot of Aussies buy stuff online from overseas for the choice as just about 100% of stuff here is made in China and not that great quality either. I get my kids clothes from Gymboree in the US as its cheap and the Aussie dollar is so strong. The retailers here are not happy with us and are lobbying for the government to impose GST on such overseas purchases at customs, like they do in the UK.
Judy Well Ash if there is no looting in the shopping malls and burning buildings, then you are definately not in England right now. Interestingly thought, it hasn't rained. I am so glad you are not here. Hope the rain stops and the excitement picks up for you. Lots of Love Mum.xx
