Left our isolated, semi protected bay on Samos at sparrows after a tough night. The crew spent most of the night securing & resecuring the boat as huge gusts came through. One mooring rope had to be dropped, leaving the anchor on solo duty. Everything on deck was wound in, or secured downstairs. No rain, warm wind, black sky, some big waves. Love a bit if excitement! Nothing outrageous to report today other than plenty of wind, a beautiful sail, warm, approx 30 degrees, lots of laughs, pods if dolphins joined our flotilla for a few kms, have got everyone in the grip of sudoku fever. A ridiculously slow start today. We were very happy in our little bay, hidden from the world. A local fisherman putted by & gave a glowing report of his island Lipsos, & proudly displayed the squid he had jagged. A quick sail from Lipsos to a secluded bay on Agsthonissi. Windsurfer, kayaks out, some waterskiing, I opted for goggles & snorkel & had an hour fossicking underwater. Heaps of small fish, healthy seagrasses, the drop offs so dramatic and steep. We all enjoyed a great afternoon on the water, working off the homemade baklava from Lipsos.
