What's new! Got up to have breakfast at 9! Again we have nothing planned for today, just waiting around to go to Vietnam tomorrow!
I really did want to visit Luang Prabang in the north of Laos but we don't have time and Michael wants to just leave Laos!
Had lunch at Dao Fa on the main street! An actual restaurant! Which was weird!
Went to get money out and accidentally types in 200,000 instead of 2,000,000! Great! You get charged the same for all transactions as well!
We are so bored! Ventiane has nothing more to offer us! We have seen it all!
Things I have noticed about Laos;
The people all look really different, in Thailand that all have big cheeks and flat noses but here some of them look a bit Chinese.
The streets arnt as dirty as Cambodia, it's cleaner here and there is less poverty.
In the rural areas there is a lot of houses with planks of wood for walls and corrugated iron roofs.
The roads are not as crazy as cambodia, it's still crazy but not so bad! You don't feel like crossing a road might be your last step!
Apparently you can drink the water from the taps here! I still won't though!
A lot of parts of Laos have only had electricity for 10 years! I find that so strange!
All around Asia the young children have smart phones! This is weird as well!
The people are very small, Michael is the tallest person everywhere we go.
The language, food and culture all come from different countries because all the surrounding countries wanted to own Laos at one point.
In Laos you eat with your hands a lot more then anywhere else.
The country side is so so beautiful! You walk down the street where all the hostels are and look up and you are surrounded by mountains.
Anyway...
Went down to reception to collect our Vietnam visa and bus tickets which we paid for yesterday.
The receptionist gave us our visas but told us we hadnt wanted or paid for the bus to Vietnam yesterday. Are. You. Kidding. We 100% did pay for it! There are like 15 receptionists here and the one we paid had gone home. They refused to look on the CCTV. Why would we get a Vietnamese visa and not go to Vietnam? Kill me.
So we had to pay again, 200000 kip (£16.17).
Just get me back to Phnom Penh. Get me in heart of darkness with a double vodka dancing the night away! Urgh what I would give...!
We were stressed so we went out for tea to vista cafe! It's in between stall and restaurant prices and is nice!
We were supposed to be going out tonight to say goodbye to everyone but didn't expect to have to pay again for the bus so had no money!
Persuaded Michael to come out for in iced coffee and walk around the market! We literally do nothing else so I get real restless about life!
Was reading into Vietnam and I have planned all the places we should go, what we should do and how long we should stay for! Michael is just along for the ride! ;) haha
There is so much to do!!!!! Things may change though as its Michael's 21st while we are there.
Got back from the market at 10 and chilled for the rest of the night!
