So! Got up, ate and went to the travel agents to ask about a Vietnamese visa as we have officially given up on getting to china! Who wants to see a wall anyway!
Apparently all we need for a visa to Vietnam is our passports and a photo! No messing about with transport in, out and all the accommodation! We have wasted a week in Vientiane tying to get to China!
China has annoyed me so I will never grace them with my presence! Apparently the people are all rude anyway! A Chinese person told me that I'm not being funny!
A girl in the guest house told us we could get a visa there and book a night bus on Saturday to Hanoi as its the best bus! Done! Sold!
Went to reception to get a visa and book the bus! It literally took 3 minutes! :| the over night 22 hour bus from Vientiane in Laos to Hanoi in Vietnam cost 200000 kip (£16). The visa for Vietnam cost 380000 kip (£30) for 30 days.
Went back to the room! Watched Dear John (Michael didn't even cry, he has a heart of stone) and total wipeout Australia! You know, real cultural program's! ;)
Had lunch at the cute lady stall, noodle soup, what else! It was beaut! Never knew plain noodles in water with a bit of raw veg could be so good!
Today I have been trying to decide what to actually do with my life! Michael is going home in September but I don't think I want to! My options are, work or volunteer in Asia somewhere, do an interrail around Europe or go home! Really want to stay in Asia but there is so much research to do and the internet is real slow about life in Laos! Like everything else!
Suggestions?
Had dinner at sticky fingers again down the road! It's beaut there! We thought we would go again as today is the 70th day we have been travelling together! Anniversary gifts welcome! Our address is boring street, vientiane baby, country of Laos, Asia, earth.
Oh my! We watched a scary film and a boy came knocking at the door! I was about to get my karate skills out but it was the receptionist asking for money as we forgot to pay for the room! Don't be so desperate! We have practically stayed here our whole lives they should know us by now!!!
I'm trying to ween Michael off chocolate pancakes! It is all the boy thinks about and is easier said than done! But as its our anniversary I let him have one tonight ;) we are such a married couple!
