We caught a ferry that took just over an hour which took us to the beautiful Phi Phi island. This island has been our favourite so far!
When we first arrive we headed straight for the view point.. In 33 degrees heat trekking 2000m up vertical stairs we made it! And wow the view was incredible - the pictures don't do it justice. On the descent from the view we opted for a slope through some woodland. We saw our first snake here and some monkeys that were trying to kill is by dropping coconuts on our heads! That night we headed out to the bars with our new friends who we met in Bangkok and then some more at the viewpoint. We went to the Muay Thai boxing ring. Then our mental friend Clare decided to have a go. We couldn't stop laughing she was so funny running around after her opponent. The night life here is crazy - buckets everywhere & it only take one which is £3 to get you drunk! The second night we sat and watched the fire shows which are mind blowing, how the men do it is unbelievable.
After Anne-Marie had a second bucket she was well geared up to give the fire limbo & skipping a go. She then got pulled out of the crowd when a Thai man carried her under the limbo pole at 1ft height .. It's was incredible and still now we don't know how he done it.
We also had a day trip on a long boat. We went to monkey island where we fed the wild monkeys. We then had lunch on the boat & Anne-Marie thought that was a good time to get sea sick! Others were looking and pushing there lunch to one side - hahaha! The next stop was Maya Bay which is where the Beach was filmed - We had to climb a net, duck and dove through rocks to get there. They didn't show Leonardo doing that! This place was paradise! Pure white sand and crystal blue water.
We're now packed up and ready to go to Ko Lanta - Phi Phi has been amazing, We've met amazing friends, Clare & John who are both insane and the funniest people ever! Rachel & Callum have since booked to go to Ko Lanta with. After all the partying we need some well deserved rest on the more remote island and beaches.
