This island is just beautiful. The accommodation we had was incredible, spending Christmas in a bungalow above the trees (cheers Gran!) Despite the torrential rain the first 2 days we've had a fantastic time. We hired a moped and seen the whole island in one day stopping off at different points, the views were amazing. We had to ride up and down flooded sand roads to which Anne Marie thought we were lost, but then a couple came riding down so we continued and ended up at a beaut beach! The rain got the better of us as we were drenched through and headed for home. Christmas Eve was very much the same although we enjoyed cocktails on the beach watching fire shows in between all the showers. Christmas Day was one to remember, we went for a early morning snorkel on our private beach, followed by a few hours by the pool topping up our tans then finished off by a 3 course Christmas meal which was very very nice - (Thanks Mum & Dad). The evening was perfect even if Anne-Marie did fall backward off her chair on FaceTime to mum, gran and auntie ju! Instead of helping Jake just carried on recording! Hahahah, the staff couldn't stop laughing at her (it was one of those you had to be there moments). Boxing Day was the best for both of us, we hired a long boat which took us to the most beautiful island we've seen - Koh Nang Yuan. We walked up to the highest point which overlooked the island and it's clear blue waters. It was sensational! After what was already an amazing day: Anne-Marie walked out onto the balcony to find Jake down on one knee, after a long pause as she couldn't stop squalling she eventually said YES! We enjoyed the rest of our evening in a fancy restaurant right on the sea front, set of a lantern to mark the day & then headed back to the pub so Jake could watch the football! Which was nice as we sat with friends we met earlier that day :).
So now as an engaged couple we start a new chapter & adventure as we head of too our next destination - Ko Samui.
