Arrived at Byron from port macquarie and spent just 2 days there.... We chilled mainly..Byron is a very relaxed place...apart from chilling on the beach, going swimming at the pool and going out partying at night not much else was done. Cheeky monkeys was our favourite haunt with $3 drinks and $2-5 meals you couldnt go wrong!! $3 fizzy wine seems great at the time but the next day is a different story....woke up with the worse hangover ever....i didn't speak to anyone till about 1pm that afternoon and wondered if i was going to keep my breakfast down!! Hangovers are usually not too bad if you can chill but we had a trip to go on and this was to Nimbin.....anyone heard of it?? It is a VERY strange place!! It first became a tourist stop in 1973, when one year a festival was held there by a large gathering of university students, practitioners of alternative lifestyles, 'hippies' and party people. Once the festival had finished...many people stayed in town where they settled with there families etc. Nimbin has a very heavy usage of cannabis. As soon as we stepped of the bus we were offered 'smoke' or puff cookies!! Was a crazy town......one bloke asked me if i'd marry him...i said erm no thanks...he said how about just for one night...I said no thanks that would be too long too!! Crazy place!

The hangover got a little better and by about 2 we were ready to talk to others on our tour!!

We arrived back at our hostel in the evening and Vikki's friend Melinda came and picked us up to take us onto our next stop which was her house for 4 days in the Gold coast! Before we left Byron Bay Mel said we had to see the light house, so she drove us upto it before heading back to her's. We were actually meant to walk up there that morning but the hangover wouldnt let us!! So longer in bed got a higher vote from Vikki and I.

Next stop...Goldcoast..Robina and Surfers paradise. x
