Yesterday about 3pm we finally arrived in a little villiage called Barra de Lagoa. This is in a place called Florianopolis (South of Brazil). Florianopolis is half on main land and half on an island. We are on the island side that has lots of nice beaches. We headed over to the East coast. It is very beautiful here, quiet little fishing villiage. There is not any hotels, just little chalets/appartments. There were 2 other british backpackers on the bus so we teamed up for them and hired a lovely little chalet that over looks the sea. On one side you have the sea and then the other side you have the lagoon. Chalet is cool. Bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom. Can't go wrong for 4 pounds per person per night. Nicola and Micheal seem like nice people also so should be a nice feel days. I am not looking forward to getting the bus out of here though. All in all it took 20 hrs to get from Argentina to here. And when you are feeling ill, the sun is hot and you have yr house on your back (backpack) it is hard work. Hopefully today we are going to get a boat around the island to see all the other beautiful beaches. And maybe even go Sand Boarding or Surfing. I'll probably be great a both! haha NOT. Also on my list for today is to try and get Andy to wash his stuff. He is at the end of his trip and I don't think he has done any washing for ages. I had to ask him to put his rucsac outside last night because of the smell. haaha (Andy - you know I am not lying). I feel sorry for his mum when she has to do his washing.
