Anna's travels......
Tuesday:
After another fantastic bus journey (so un like me to have horrible bus journeys, i know!) I got to Puno at 4.30am in the morning from Arequipa. Whoops! I didn`t plan this to good as the connecting bus to Copacabana doesn`t leave until 7.30am. There was a guy selling bus tickets at the station, he sorted out my ticket and hotel for a few hours. He even picked me up at 7.30am, carried my bag and walked me to my bus stop. He probably ripped me off with the price of the bus ticket!?
Got to Copacabana about lunch time, met my mate Tina (Bariloche girl). Good to see the nutter again. The town is really small. Not too much to do.
Lake Titicaca is the largest lake in the world about 2000m. This lake is 3820m about sea level. It spread across Peru and Bolivia. Copacbana is on the Bolivian side. (Puno is on the Peru side). The main thing to do here is get a boat over to the islands, Isla del Sol and Luna. We are going to do that tomorrow.
With not much else to do Tina and I settled down with a bottle of red. Another one later and we were ready for bed. Altitude makes you get drunk quicker, well, thats my excuss!
Wednesday:
Wish I did not drink too much. Had to get up at 7am for the tour. We were both so not in the mood. Got the boat across to the islands, nice trip, bit boring, by the 2nd island we had met some friends and decided it would be better to sit down and have a few beers.
Once back on Copacabana we arranged to meet our new friends and ended up having one massive session. Found the only bar in town that would let us drink until the morning hours. I really wish it made me go home at 12 oclock though. God did I have the worlds biggest hangover the next day.
Thursday:
Such a hard day. Had to get up though. Tina had a bus to catch to Puno and I had to get the bus to La Paz. Oh I really wanted to be back at home today, on the sofa watching a good girlie film. Oh, and to have a nice cuppa tea. But no, in bolivia and getting a dodgy local bus. Yippee. Glad to say goodbye to Tina as she is a nutter (haha), I think us two together for 3 days is enough. But hope to bump into here again soon. (when I have recovered!!)
