Sunday 6th July, 2008 - O2 Wireless Festival
The day had finally arrived. We left early to get to the O2 Wireless Festival in time to be one of the 200 VIP passes into the guest area that TNT magazine are giving away. The weather today was silly, it couldn't decided whether it was going to be sunny or rainy. We are dressed in our blue singlet which we had printed the southern cross on the back however we had the cover the beautiful stars with our jumpers. Stacey, one of Bec's friends meet us and we waited 1 ½ hours at the gates. The excitement was all too much…… In order to get the VIP pass we would have to run our little legs off once inside the gates and that's exactly what we did after getting very frustrated at the ticket man who couldn't get the machine to work and everyone was betting us but Yah got the pass. The VIP area cost an extra £100 but not for us it was FREE. Ok so now the first thing was done was checked it out. Best thing about it was no line up for the toilets and we has our own bar and food away from everyone. (when I say own I mean own with the other VIP guests).
First interesting band to play was Goo Goo Dolls. They were perfect and wish to could re-live the whole thing. Second was Powderfinger and we managed to get really close to the front and they played all the right songs (expect for these days) and next was Ben Harper which I didn't really know may of his songs and then Counting Crows, I have never see them live but I through they were s*** house. I have a few songs of theirs but I think the lead singer was to drunk to know what he was singing. For Mr Jones the crowd was singing for him and he was singing every 4th work.
So back to the weather. It rained about 5 showers through the day so we got wet (had ponchos) then dried then got wet again. But still over all the day was amazing and wish I could do it again.
