Waking to another beautiful day in Berwick Jean, Joe & Me pilled into the car and headed for Holy Island. This is an island you can only get to by car when the tide is down and today was 10am to 4pm, perfect for us. It was only 20 min drive. Jean used to work on the island for 8 years so she was my personal tour guide today. On the beach front was Lindisfarne Castle, impressively built onto cliff top, an old Priory, well half an Priory where the monks used to live before they took the bricks to build the castle. The island was very cute, small and has lots of restaurants, cafes and sheep. In a little bay at low tide the boats just sat on the sand and looked very sad and all along the shore they turned old fishing boats upside down, cut the front section off and put on doors for storage sheds. We had a yummy organic lunch and headed home before the tide caught us out.
I meet Jo-Anne Jeans daughter and went through the family tree as Jo-anne is doing all research into where we all came from. It got very confusing but very interesting into how much stuff she found out and getting it all linked together. I can't marry anyone in England now because i will mostly likely be related so that idea is out the window.
