We went to Kata Tjuta and got to see some amazing views after another challenging walk. We were also lucky to see a rainbow that went all the way around the sun! We visited the Aboriginal cultural centre before heading to Ayres rock! It was just as impressive as you could imagine and it was hard to believe that what you can see of the rock is only the tip and that it goes down underground for around 7kms! We did a short walk where our guide shared some stories and showed us some parts of the rock, and how they would've been used. We then drove a short way to get the best view of Ayres rock as the sun set. We enjoyed a mug of wine and some lovely food - what a great sight to be looking at as you eat your dinner!
Luckily for us we got back to a more established campsite - with showers and toilets - just before the heavens opened for a cracking storm. We found a spot on the laundry floor in the dry and enjoyed a much better sleep, until SOMEONE started snoring! No names mentioned (Angela) but at least it proves her swag was a comfy one!
