Airports
We curled up on the floor for about 3 hours but woke up absolutely frozen, so we went outside to warm up and ended up falling asleep on a bench by the drop off point until about 8am. As it was still raining we went back inside for coffee before getting kicked out again due to the emergency alarm going off. Apparently it was a drill but we were outside in the warm again so I wasnt bothered but all the Americans were, they didnt want to be out when it was raining even if it was undercover! Eventually we were allowed back in and it wasnt long before we checked in again and got on our 11am flight. We didnt sleep so much on this flight but we werent sitting together so Andy missed looking down over the Florida Keys which were stunning. When we landed we went and collected our bags, glad they'd made it through the transfer and werent lost then got a taxi to the hostel we'd booked for 2 nights. Originally we'd booked it for 1, but we had to cancel that and then we figured we'd need 2 nights to recover from the lack of sleep over the last few days! We did little more than walk a few minutes from the hostel to get a burger king...being tired I didnt want anything that was going to tax my brain in Spanish, so somewhere with pictures was good! We ended up with what I thought I'd asked for and sat and ate before heading back. We passed a small pharmacy still open on the way so thought we'd go in and get some cough medicine as I was still feeling lousy. Unfortunately it was an over the counter pharmacy and the lady didnt speak any English, so through my limited knowledge of 'soy enferma' (i'm ill) and various mimes and hand gestures she produced 2 lots of pills for me to take twice a day for 2 days...success!! :) After this we went back and got into bed and fell straight to sleep at about 10pm.
