Blog Day!!!
Lazy day today to recover from the craziness of the last few days and nights!! Spent most of the morning updating the blog, then we turnrd our attention to how we were going to leave Alaska...this is not as easy as it sounds!! Craigslist, for those of you that have heard of it, (for those that havent...look it up lol!) proved a mine of ideas and information...we contacted a couple of people regarding lifts but to no avail :( Sounds simple but looking up anything like this on the internet takes ages and before we knew it Sheli was home from work. She has a bit of a project going on in her front yard where she is putting in 2 ponds connected by a waterfally bit which crosses her pathway, there's going to be a little bridge going over...awesome! Anyway, her friend Paul, who is 'project manager' came round to whip her into shape digging out for the ponds so we decided to lend a hand as best we could. This involved me and Sheli driving to the mall to sort out a sim card for the phone while Andy and Paul finished off the digging!!! ;) Good call i reckon!! But we all got stuck in once we were back, me and Paul filling barrows with D1,a kind of gravelly compound they use as a hardcore, then Andy and Sheli raking and tamping it down as a base. My years of s*** shovelling whilst working with horses proved usefull as Paul complimented me on my barrowing technique!! We stopped at about 9.30 and treated ourselves to a Haagan Daaz icecream...delish!! Paul offered to take us all out to dinner on Thursday, lovely guy and very funny :) After a bit of a rest we gave Sheli her first ever salsa lesson!! Went through the basic step and side step before going into partnerwork. She picked it up pretty easily so we introduced a right turn and eventually a crossbody too!! To slow music we went over theses steps individually and with a partner, I think if she keeps it up she could be good as she seems to find the beat easily, although On2 seems to come more naturally!! At just past 11.30 we crashed and went to bed!!
