Well, its been a very full on week here in Europe for little old me! Done a nice fair share of travelling and fun nights so let me fill you all in!
So from where I left you last, I left the wine town of Greve to travel only an hour away to a very familiar old friend, Florence. Managed to get the right bus into Florence, but then the maze to Whitney's house (the american girl I mentioned last time) began! Managed to get nicely lost, for some reason I just cant map out Florence in my head, so what was ment to be 20 minutes turned into a nice rounded hour. Found the apartment, hit every buzzer to get me in the building, knocked on every door and finally managed to find her! Very nice girl and awesome room mates, pretty much everyone I met was American as they are all at a American University in Florence, but they were all cool and funny people. First night was a basketball tournament, so we had to travel a rediculous amount just to play, but was fun, the girls were actually pretty good! Managed to see an italian car crash which consisted of many hand gestures everywhere, not sure they were getting anywhere with that but was entertaining for us! We all headed back for some drinks at the apartment, had a good time just getting to know everyone and taking the edge off!
Shopping markets during each day, managed to go through probably nearly every single shop in Florence... I found a awesome new way to shop which is were I go for a jog and window shop, and if I see something cool ill just drop in for a little peak ;) So really its just a very fast way of getting through every shop in town haha. Was double bonus aswell as my jog went for longer, I think i ended up going out for like 3 hours.. like a shopping marathon lol. Did manage to find some nice cheapy shoes, my 3rd pair so far, one more pair to find!
Second night went out for the basketall finals, watched the guys play and dam they were pretty good, id sponsor some of those guys. Not really just trying to reinforce they were good. And after was a traditional American BBQ, which was free!! So burgers, hot dogs, dr pepper, mayonnaise, Ross Fairlie; you name it everything American was there. Was alright food, but the guys convinced me to "be american" that night, so they said I had to eat as much as I could... really didnt want to eat so much, going to have to seriously get running hard. Any ways, there was a local faire nearby that we wanted to go to, but one of the italian locals was being all gay and saying that stabbings were happening and mobsters were there.. pff.. so that scared the girls so we all just went to go drink instead! Fun night, shots and more shots at the apartment, then awesome little jugs with gigantic straws again and dancing on tables; nothing beats it. Passed out on my slightly awkward couch and had a nice sleep in the next day. Had a chilled day, walked around and saw a funny sport which i like to call "Soccer, with blindfolds, and instead of kicking the ball you roll it like bowls" haha, was one of the funniest sports to watch, wanted to give it a shot! Any ways, after a good few days, said goodbye to Whitney and Co. and then off to Mestre to see all my old exchange student friends!
Arrived, sent messages to a few of the italians, and only two of them could meet me on the first night. Managed to find my way to the old XXXX bar that we always went to four years ago, and the owner says he remembers us! So that was cool, gave me a few free drinks so maybe he remembers how often we came haha. Chatted with the italians for a little, then they took me to a beer festival for the rest of the night, was a good night. Next day, shopping with one of the italian girls and at night back to the XXXX bar with her, awesome girl and so nice that she came to spend so much time with me, she can be my wifey for lifey any day haha. Unfortunately none of the other italians could come, not even my host brother, so was nice to see atleast a few of them! After a very quick stop over in Mestre, finally leaving Italy for a solid 3 months! Its been nice but i really want to move on haha.
Left for a 7 hour train ride to Geneva, Switzerland. Easy train ride, just watched movies, had one stressing occasion over the border though. I heard the border patrollers asking for switzerland visa, and I know that switzerland is I think the only European country that has a different rule or something about visa's and visiting. I quickly read my Visa and it didnt include Switzerland... so stressing a bit, but i just had all my documents ready and straight up asked the guy "so do you get to stamp my passport?" and he just laughed, said that doesnt happen anymore, didnt look at any of my documents and moved on... phew.. So after that, arrived in Geneva, picked up by my cousins mum and arrived at the house at around 11:45pm, he was having a party, so I was drunk by 12:30am, awesome people; met mostly swiss but also met a french girl. I had no idea about switzerland but i think they party alot here!! My cousins already lined me up for my next couple weekends haha, should be fun!
So I have about two weeks here, should be a very fun, relaxing, overall amazing two weeks! My cousin is studying so he has given me his gym pass, I can borrow the car if I want (still thinking on that one, dont want to crash it haha) so its kind of like home! But in Switzerland... Auzerland?
