Well well well. 190 days later, 13 countries, met so many people, so many crazy nights and shinanigans; my Eurotrip has come to an end!
Since my blog finishing up the skiing trip in St Anton; the Thumm family went onto quickly stop through Florence, Venice, and now finishing up in Dubai. Florence was wayyy too rushed, we were only there for 2 nights so literally running everywhere. Was pretty much a shopping trip; took my parents to my favourite markets and picked up a nice bunch of stuff - had to send another suitcase home :P Unfortunately didnt get to show Nicholai too much of actual Florence, but he was more interested in the shopping anyways. Venice was great as usual (it actually snowed at one stage!! - Checked out the Murano Glass factory, Nicholai and I got to blow our own glass which was coooool! Watched the glass maker make a vase and a horse... pretty crazy stuff. I pretty much just walked Nicholai around the city as iv been there too many times already this year, so I made sure to take him to the big pizza place, took him to all my favourite shops and squares- I think he had a pretty good time, only downfall is that Venice has no nightlife!! And couldnt meet up with the italians because my phone didnt work/ had no internet, so that was a bit teh-lame.
Then, a flight from Venice to Dubai: after 5 hours and many vodka's later I had finally left Europe! It was sad, but Dubai was a place I was most looking forward heaps so was totallyyy excited. There is so much to do here and we have been rushing around to see everything. Its really spread out here, kind of like the GC but all the good things are seperated, so that does kind of suck to get around, but taxis are so cheap so doesnt matter. I think the most unexpected thing that happened while we were here, is that I went into hospital! Haha, on the second day, I got absolutely no sleep as I was in some pretty epic pain, and doctor Nicholai suggested I may have apendicidis! So, taking no chancs, we went to the hospital and 4 hours later, they couldnt figure out what I had; the doctor said I had apendicidis but the sugeon said he wasnt sure and wanted me to wait a day. What it ended up being was a virus 'pretending' to be apendicidis... so technically I had it but i didnt.... I felt bad for wasting half a day in Dubai, but luckily we all got the date wrong and we ended up having an extra day up our sleeves! So wasnt bad after all. Any whos, so far we have seen the Emirates mall and the new (and like 10x bigger) Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa (the 880 meter tall building, absolutely amazing), Burj Al Arab (saw it from the outside), the massive gold souk, shopping street markets (sooo much shopping), checked out a cool market for carpets and random arabian items (like old swords and jazz like that) and watched the biggest water show in the world! The architecture is amazing here and the people are so nice, definately wouldnt mind living here for a while.
Today is the last day in Dubai, and the last day of my trip! I think we are heading to do some more last minute shopping and pretty much pack our bags, have a nice last dinner and say our farewells.
